Great place to have Japanese cuisine. Love specifically the pork belly rice. Tender meat that comes with rich flavour. Best to eat the whole bowl while it’s hot, else it’ll be greasy upon room temperature.

First visit to this restaurant and first impression was quite good. Floor staff were nice and greets you with a smile. I was shown my table and when I proceeded to take a seat, the chair cushion just went straight down, to a point where I could feel the wooden chair frame underneath the cushion. In case if you guys are wondering if I’m fat, I’m 1.7m tall and weigh in at 62kg. I guess it’s time to change those chairs.

Ordering was simple enough through the use of ipad. My wife and I both ordered the set that comes with a side and a drink. The Mrs chose the spicy char siu ramen with boiled gyōza and I got the volcano ramen with chijimi as sides plus an A la carte gyōza.

Ramen was good and so was the gyōza but what disappointed me the most was the chijimi. It came to the table not golden brown but dark brown with burnt pieces. The sides consists of six pieces and four out of six were burnt. (See picture) I knew straight away that these chijimi were prepared in advance either one or two days before and when an order for those comes up, the chef would just throw them into the deep fryer. That’s usually a sign of a lazy chef.

If it weren’t for the chijimi and the chair, I would have given this place a four star rating.

Good tasting food, perhaps a buck or two more expensive than it needs to be, but well done. Will go again

They try very hard to make japanese food, but you get what you pay for. If you are looking for ramen, try Ramen Hitoyoshi at harbourfront instead at a similar price.
