Neighbourhood market and food centre with great food. Popular place among the locals, there is a good variety of options. The market is very crowded during meal hours and it can be difficult to get a seat. The food centre can get hot and stuffy during the peak periods. However, the food makes it all much more bearable.

Lots of choice. Favorite is the fresh made roti pratha near the entrance. Very busy but seats available.

Had the soya sauce chicken with hor fun. The noodle was silky and flavourful and the chicken was super tender. The portions was good and I had a satisfying $4 meal. Definitely more satisfying than the 1 Michelin star Chef Chan’s Soy Sauce chicken I had at their Chinatown branch.

Really great place for trying various food the west side has to offer.

But today I would like to alert NEA or cleaning agency of boon lay market to an unfortunate event I had. I tried returning mine tray to a cleaner, being a considerate singaporean. But instead I was shouted at and ordered to give to another cleaner. As each cleaner had their own territory/area.

I was upset and furious. I had never had this experience in a hawker center. How are singaporeans willing to return their trays and used plates, if cleaners marked out territory that they clean and scold people for not knowing.

A possible solution would be adequate tray return counters around the hawker center. Or an indication of the areas which the cleaners handle.

I really love the food here, and would like to contribute to the tray return movement. But the current boon lay market that’s not possible.

I tried one of the lor mee stores and it’s quite amazing the portion which they give for 3.50 is alot. 5🌟 for the lor mee.
