   It’s a nice ambiance, for some food and drinks. Would say the food are okay, nothing that I dislike or special about it to go for. Had tried their fish and chips which could improve by having more fish to flour ratio.

   Had their fish & chips on National Day.

   I guess the rule of thumb is to avoid eating here on public holidays? Probably a different chef took over and everything was kinda meh. We order spam fries and couldn’t taste much of it. The outer crust was so thick and the mayonnaise just masked the taste.

   Chill place with loads of choices for beer. Good place to bring overseas visitors who love exotic beers and good Western food.
   It used to have sawn down plastic chairs and tables under the night sky but now, 40 years (?) down the road, it has a permanent shelter and normal height tables and chairs. No complaints though especially as we have monsoon seasons and lots of showers throughout the year. What’s better is that the beer list is much more impressive now!

   Poorly managed, but it does have quite a variety of beers. I went there because I saw the story on television of how the owning family had been there since the colonial period and how they were maintaining the family’s recipes. And how one of the siblings got involved again because the quality of the place had declined… informal stuff.

   They supposedly open around 12, I got there around 12:30, and nothing was set up and they said: give us about 15 minutes and the kitchen is starting up, the stove is warming up. I come back a half hour later and the story is now that the kitchen doesn’t open until 3, but I can have a drink. I wouldn’t normally had minded, but this place is isolated in a corner of the island, so going there and not eating was a frustrating experience. There’s lots of other eating establishment in the same complex, so it was even more confusing that the kitchen wouldn’t be a focus when opening.

   A family oriented business that shows friendliness. The famous Fish and Chip has its pinch of authenticity but I feel it needs a bit more favor to stand out further. The place is small but cozy with a few settings, high tables, bar area, the quiet side and the normal sitting.
