Before MChefz (Keat Hong CC) was renovated, the food and ambiance there was nice, its a nice place to have dinner with family and friends on both weekdays and weekends.
But, something disappointing happened yesterday when my friends and I dine there last night. We ordered their newly launched “Seafood on Skillet with Yam Chicken stock”. The soup was especially salty, vegetables served inside this set was not fresh at all – the most unacceptable one was their baby corn (refer to below picture and video).
At first, when we saw the baby corn, we thought that it was cooked in the soup base, which explains the dark colour, but to our horror, its was not the case. We called the waitress and inform her about it, she went into the kitchen, came out and inform us – “All of our baby corns are the same”.
My friends and I concluded that this was the last time we will ever dine there. Its really disappointing.

Ate many times. Service and food is good. However today, while waiting to pay, the lady staff used the sink (the one for the drinks) at the cashier to rinse her mop. The Malay male staff told her cannot use the sink there, then she said she will clean. True enough, she cleaned. But she used the sponge for cleaning the cups to scrub the sink. So I highlighted to the cashier and he said he will replace the sponge. He also explained that usually the staff will use a pail when mopping. Do educate all staff on basic cleanliness and hygiene. Thank goodness for the male cashier, who understands the importance of food hygiene. What will happen if no one had witnessed the incident, though. I’m not sure if I’ll patronize again.

Came very fast. Soup was packed separately so my horfun was not soggy. Gave plastic cutlery although I did not ask for them. Ample servings. Rider was patient. Can’t seem to post pics, Google!

Been here several times. To be honest before the renovation, MChef Cuisine had looked uninviting. However, the newly renovated outlet looks modern and classy, with a new and improved menu offering various delicious selections, great for a chill family dinner.
The service here is always warm and prompt, props to the staff for the fuss-free meals. I can still fondly remember one of my favourite dishes, the beef sirloin rice bowl with spring onion sauce. The pickled mushrooms that were included added a different dimension of flavor to the dish. But sadly, I believe they no longer have pickled mushrooms in their beef rice bowl.
However though, if you’re one to go for seafood, they’ve recently added a seafood skillet platter combo that includes the popular barramundi fillet which is currently one of their best sellers.
Overall an interesting restaurant to keep an eye out for. You never know what new menu changes may come in 😀
