Blog Title: “Mangia Bene”  translates to “Eat Well” or “Enjoy Your Meal” in Italian. Inspired by Italian culture, I believe food and wine go hand in hand to create a magical experience bonding family and friends.

Childish Tendencies: I eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on a regular basis and will eat ice cream even if its snowing outside.

Biography: Often times, the people in our lives who have inspired us the most help define who we become.  Having said that, I have become an entrepreneur, a risk taker, a believer, a military wife, a wine lover, and a chef.

My Grandpa Ross was an inventor. He actually funded a beautiful house for a family of nine from selling the patent on his idea of the plastic hanger. My dad, Tom Ross managed his own business with one partner for twenty years and retired before the age of fifty five after selling their success. I have a dream to sell myself as a writer and take over the world of wine. I am an entrepreneur.

My mom moved to California in her early twenties not knowing a soul with a thousand dollars in her pocket. She survived and lived there for twenty years. I funded a study abroad experience to Italy on my own, with two years of funding left in college. I am a risk taker.

When I was 18 I met my husband to -be. The first few times we met were unbelievable coincidences. One of the first nights we talked on the phone he told me he was reading the Bible. I always went to church but it was through Scott that I learned to be passionate about God. I am a believer.

I have a cell phone with a Colorado area code. I have a Texas license plate. I live in New Jersey. I am from California. I move all over the country to support my husband’s career. The passion and dedication he carries serving the Air Force gives me pride to be his spouse. I am a military wife.

I studied abroad in Italy when I was twenty. Italians served wine as a component of each meal creating a harmonious sensation of flavors between palate and taste buds.  They taught me about the beauty of wine. I currently work for an international distributor selling wines from all over the world to stores and restaurants. I am intrigued by the history of wine and how it continues to evolve all over the world and in our glass. I am a wine lover.

I grew up with women that loved the kitchen. It was through my grandmother, mother, stepmother, and mother-in-law that I first experienced variety of cooking styles and a passion for food. Having now lived in Italy as well as the West, South, and East of the United States, I have soaked up flavors from these places and want to bring them to your table. I am an at home chef.

    Hi Kristen!
My mom passed the link along to me – and I love your blog!! You’ve already inspired me to want to learn to cook well! And I also got to study abroad in Italy and it helped to change my whole perspective on meals and cooking for family…
Keep it up and I wish you the best with this! And I also wish I lived closer and we could totally be friends! haha :)
